I still remember so deeply the times when it wasn’t so glam. The times I was completely confused, frustrated and overwhelmed. When I didn’t know why on earth I couldn’t have the life I desired and why things were so hard and painful.
The guilt used to cloud my thoughts- day in and day out. The embarrassment of not being my best, the shame of letting others down, the anger of feeling behind. Even when I started making “good” money, I couldn't figure out why I could not make the money I NEEDED! I found myself telling my little girl that camping in a tent was more fun than Disney World. WAKE UP CALL. Something had to change.
I knew I had loads of debt I needed to pay off. The interest alone was making me nauseous. I had a list of places I would love to take my family, and didn't even like bringing it up, because I knew my kids would get excited and I couldn’t face them knowing that I wouldn't have a way to make it happen. The budget talks with my husband used to make me want to punch something.
I even quit going to church because I wanted to tithe, but always felt there wasn't enough and it made me feel really bad. Dealing with all of this and trying to hold it together and act like I was always happy and life was grand for my family was a daily struggle. Every time I logged on to Facebook, I immediately saw someone living the life I truly wanted but didn't know how!
